Mobile Device Policy

admin October 26th, 2009

Hi All,

Here’s a copy of the nearly finished Mobile Device Policy that was mentioned in the last ITC meeting.  We’d love some feedback. We’d like to get this out as soon as possible, so it would be much appreciated if everyone could send their comments by the end of the week.

Mobile Device Policy Draft

Thanks,

Jeff

Pardon my ignorance, but is an “ipod touch” considered a mobile device?
I think the policy covers what needs to be done to enhance security. The policy itself may need some commas and the final proofreading should cover that.
Will the policy need to be approved by college counsel?

Yup, iPod Touches are considered mobile devices. They can connect to any wireless network, so it’s conceivable that people would be checking their college email on them.
Also, I think that the policy will need to go through college counsel after it gets through us on the ITC.
