- Determines needs, concerns, and suggestions of faculty, professional staff and administrators on matters of academic importance, and issues central to the advancement of North Shore Community College requiring discussion/action from faculty and staff.
- Conducts meetings for the purpose of discussion and recommendations on major academic issues.
- Conducts meetings for intellectual involvement, stimulation and professional growth for faculty and staff. Important conclusions compiled from meetings will be forwarded to appropriate individual or group for action.
- Conducts meetings for planning for the future of the college in terms of effective academic delivery, changing needs of student body, improving retention of students, improving academic standards, etc.
- Invites speakers from outside the college to give fresh perspectives on issues we may face as a college.
- Responsible, with input from Professional Development Committee, for planning and developing Professional Day.
