Regarding the Governance Committees. Madelyn Wallis has asked that staff be informed of upcoming elections to vacancies in the sub-committees. There will be an announcement posted in the Bulletin. If you are interested in becoming part of a committee, please notify HR via email.

Hello all,
On Friday morning, Patti and I sat with Rick Reney about the bathroom issues. We expressed to him the concerns about the Lynn W bathroom and suggested it be locked for Staff only. He promised he’d look into seeing whether legally the college can do that. Legally as in up to code wise. Other issues Rick informed us is the janitorial staff is stretched to its limit and with all the functions that take place at the college only the janitorial staff are doing the set ups so needless to say, not a lot of time can be spent on cleaning the bathrooms.
We discussed a problem with the cafeteria and the occasional rudeness that happens and there really isn’t much that can be done about that either as Epecurian is laying off employees as well and they are short staffed.
We discussed some ideas about helping the college to save electricity and I will be sending out an email to AFSCME employees asking them to try and do their part to help.
Patti did inform me that the Dust Bunny Family in the Health Building have been relocated to a happier place, so I guess we will just have to deal with baby steps for now.
