- Develop, review and recommend policies and procedures relating to degree and certificate requirements, graduation proficiencies, and graduation requirements.
- Develop, review and recommend credit, noncredit and clock hour coursework polices, such as, but not limited to: course load, add/drop, withdrawal, audit, and repetition policies.
- Develop, review and recommend credit, noncredit and clock hourĀ grading policies, such as, but not limited to: grading system, IP contracts, “F” grade waiver, early/mid-semester/ongoing alert systems, mid-semester progress reporting, definition of terms related to credit hours earned, credit hours completed, and quality point average.
- Develop, review and recommend academic standing policies including, but not limited to: criteria for good academic standing and satisfactory progress, academic probation, suspension and dismissal, academic review board, early/mid-semester/ongoing alert systems.
- Develop, review and recommend all policies regarding official College Honors and Commencement Honors.
- Develop, review and recommend policy regarding college course transfer credit policy.
- Develop, review and recommend policies for courses with non-traditional scheduling and/or delivery.
- Develop, review and recommend standards of student ethics relatingĀ to academic honesty.
- Review reports and recommendations of assessment cut-off scores established by respective departments for placement in developmental and college level coursework; monitor college assessment cut-off score standards in relation to common assessment standards of the Massachusetts State College and University System.
- Work with Student Financial Services on issues related to student aid.
- Assist in the development, implementation, evaluation and modification of related strategic planning outcomes and activities.
- Work with standing committees, departments, and offices on outcomes/issues.
- Establish subcommittees, task forces; work groups as necessary to assist in policy/procedure development or problem solving.
- Recommend policy through the Faculty/Professional Staff Meeting to the President for final approval; communicate results to the College Community, as appropriate.
